Introducing FarmPath: Making Farming Accessible and Achievable for Future Generations
Farm Foundation launches FarmPath, supported by The Mosaic Company Foundation for Sustainable Food Systems and the PepsiCo Foundation.
Libertyville, IL — October 13, 2025 — Farm Foundation, in partnership with The Mosaic Company Foundation for Sustainable Food Systems and the PepsiCo Foundation, proudly announces the launch of FarmPath, a national program designed to create a more resilient, diversified, and innovative farming community by strengthening rural economies, supporting food security, and promoting a flourishing future for American agriculture.
With the average U.S. farmer nearing retirement and barriers to entry rising for young farmers, FarmPath addresses a critical need: making farming a viable opportunity for the next generation.
FarmPath Program Goals
FarmPath will equip the next generation of agricultural entrepreneurs with tools, training, and mentorship. Targeted outcomes include:
- Increasing the success rate of beginning farmers by equipping them with mentorship, planning tools, and practical pathways to accomplish their goals
- Accelerating intergenerational knowledge transfer by connecting new farmers with mentors and experts, preserving critical skills and networks over the long-term
- Building a supportive community with a cohort-based approach grounded in shared experiences and mutual support
- Scaling sustainable practices and natural resource use through hands-on and virtual training
The program will operate over the course of three years with a beginning goal of enrolling 300 participants from across the country. Applications to participate in the FarmPath Program will open in early 2026.
Strategic Investment and Impact

The PepsiCo Foundation aims to build resilient food systems that help to ensure better outcomes for the earth and for everyone. By supporting small-scale farmers, the PepsiCo Foundation is working to transform the food system by collaborating with farmers to strengthen what’s working and help expand access to the tools, knowledge, and resources that will support long-term success.
“Farmers are the backbone of our communities, driving local economies and helping families access nutritious and affordable food,” said C.D. Glin, President of the PepsiCo Foundation and Global Head of Social Impact, PepsiCo, Inc. “Through FarmPath, we will continue our efforts to support the next generation of farmers who are fundamental to building a stronger and more sustainable food future.”
For this partnership, Farm Foundation is leveraging its diverse network of experienced farmers, partners, and experts to develop and implement farmer-centric solutions for younger generations that are the core of our future food systems.
“Farm Foundation has a decades-long history of investing in the next generation of agricultural leaders. What began as an idea to deepen and expand that impact is now coming to life through the generous investments of The Mosaic Company Foundation for Sustainable Food Systems and the PepsiCo Foundation,” said Shari Rogge-Fidler, President and CEO of Farm Foundation. “FarmPath is about opening doors, sharing wisdom, and helping new farmers build a resilient, sustainable future for their families, their communities and agriculture.
